About Riding on Grace

Riding on Grace group of young riders

Riding on Grace is an equestrian center built on the foundation of horsemanship and empowerment.

Horses hold a special bond with humans and can teach us more than just riding skills. At Riding on Grace, we take that mission seriously and want to open the eyes and hearts of everyone to the power these animals have to help us physically and emotionally.

The skills we develop here-balance, trust, communication, resilience-are skills we carry with us through life. Every rider who starts here can excel at any level they ever want to reach.

Your Guide

Meet Sarah Jean

Sarah Jean Sabulsky, owner of Riding on Grace
20+ Years Teaching
Certified Adaptive Riding
Ohio State Communications
Trauma Recovery Coach

"I believe horses have an incredible ability to help us heal, grow, and discover who we truly are."

I've been giving riding lessons for over 20 years, and I'm certified in both able-bodied and adaptive riding-though I focus more on the emotional side than physical disability. After a life-altering event, I began my own personal journey to connecting horses to human emotional processing.

I started Riding on Grace 5 years ago as a safe space for young adults to go so they could be themselves and learn more about themselves through riding horses. Now I offer other experiences that don't involve physical riding at all.

I'm also a women's empowerment coach, specializing in trauma recovery and reconnection with themselves. I have a communications degree from Ohio State and grew up just 15 miles away from where the barn is now. It has come full circle.

I have ridden horses my whole life and had adolescent trauma myself, so I worked backwards into my findings about how horses and humans connect in a healing way. After a long and trying divorce, I moved to this property now known as Riding on Grace.

I recently got married again to the person I waited my whole life to find, and we are committed to growing this farm for all to find peace.

"Any student that starts here can excel at any riding level they ever want to go to. We take families from 'I have this girl who wants to know everything about horses and I know nothing' to feeling supported in this journey."

- Sarah Jean

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about getting started at Riding on Grace.

We welcome young riders starting at age 3! Our 'Lessons for Littles' program is specially designed for children ages 3-6, focusing on building balance, confidence, and a love for horses in a safe, nurturing environment.
Not at all! Many of our students come with zero horse experience. Our Beginner Horsemanship program teaches you everything from the ground up-literally. You'll learn horse care, safety, and riding skills at your own pace.
We recommend closed-toe shoes or boots with a small heel (no sandals or sneakers), long pants, and comfortable clothing you can move in. We have helmets available for all riders. Avoid loose scarves or dangling jewelry.
Yes! Sarah Jean is certified in adaptive riding and has extensive experience working with non-typical riders, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. We create a supportive environment where every rider can thrive.
Healing with Horses is our equine-assisted therapy program that focuses on emotional processing and personal growth-it may or may not include riding. Regular riding lessons focus on building equestrian skills. Both can be transformative, just in different ways.
We're happy to help you figure that out! Contact us for a free consultation where we'll discuss your goals, experience level, and what you're hoping to get out of your time with us. We'll match you with the perfect program.
Our weekend retreats are immersive experiences designed for deeper connection and personal growth. Whether it's a mother-daughter retreat or a personal healing weekend, you'll spend quality time with horses, enjoy the peaceful Ohio countryside, and leave feeling renewed.
Yes! Horse leasing is a wonderful way to experience horse ownership without the full commitment. Lessees get regular access to their horse, can participate in lessons and events, and truly become part of our barn family.
